Gentlemen’s Wardrobes for 2018: Black, Block Colours and Cufflinks - ONE BOND STREET

A number of new menswear trends are set to be very popular throughout the coming year: both in terms of stunning clothing and elegant jewellery. And, although following fashion trends can, at times, seem a little fickle, it’s good to pay attention to them for some new year style inspiration. New trends coming in should not, of course, mean overhauling your wardrobe - buying all new clothing, sterling silver cufflinks, jewellery and so on - but they may give you some new ideas to revamp and add interest to your attire.

One trend that is predicted to take the nation by storm is wearing vibrant, block colours - an excellent way to inject a little character and pizzazz into your apparel. This does not, however, have to be limited to your apparel. Indeed, sporting colourful jewellery and accessories can be a great way to get on board with this style trend: especially if you are not overly keen on wearing bright and eye-catching garments. Sporting a set of One Bond Street’s Shocking Pink Roundel sterling silver cufflinks, for instance, is a great way to add a bold hue into your attire in a more subtle, less eye-catching way.

Alternatively, for those debonair gents that wish to avoid bright colours all together, some good news: black is also set to be a popular trend in the coming months. Again, this can mean wearing black clothing, like shirts, trousers, jackets and coats, or black accessories like bangles, jewellery and sterling silver cufflinks, as sold by One Bond Street.

A cautionary note for this trend, however: it’s a good idea not to go overboard with black. You wouldn’t want, for example, to sport all black attire, coupled with black jewellery, bangles, sterling silver cufflinks and so on. Indeed, this would mean that neither your clothing, nor stylish accessories would stand out! A white shirt paired with a set of stunning black cufflinks would be a marvellous way to incorporate black into you attire, or even vice versa!

One more trend for 2018 is set to be loose fit suit tailoring. Last year we saw much more fitted suits with tapered trousers and slim fit jackets but it seems this year we will see quite the opposite. Importantly, for the cufflink lovers amongst us, however, wearing loose fitting suits does not have to mean giving up on smart accessories, like One Bond Street’s sterling silver cufflinks, as despite their more fluid and relaxed fit they can still look incredibly smart and dapper.

So there you have it: some gentlemen’s trends expected to be big hits in 2018. Incorporating just a few of them into your wardrobe would be a great way to inject a little character into your ensembles and inject a little vitality for the new year. You can do this to as great or as little an extent as you feel – whether it is wearing brightly coloured clothing, or a beautiful set of stunningly vibrant sterling silver cufflinks, sporting black attire or a subtle and elegant pair of One Bond Street’s classic all black cufflinks.
